Louis Patrick Davitt

Louis Patrick Davitt, born September 7th 1946, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 5th, 2025 at the age of 79. He was a resident of Fort Davis, Texas, and is survived by his son, two daughters, and sister.

Pat was a naval aviator, then architect, then longshoreman, and finally a network systems architect. Like his job changes, he was a rolling stone always traveling and searching for adventure. He once said he never really figured out what he wanted to do with his life until after he turned 50. Pat explored the country by all means of transportation, most notably by yacht, Porsche, and Harley Davidson. It was not until he found the picturesque Fort Davis, with its warm people and spectacular scenery, that he decided to stop traveling and permanently settle…and transition to the locals’ standard transportation of horse and truck along with appropriate wardrobe change.His hobbies were as diverse as his work and residences. Growing up he pursued piano, drums, camping, hunting, fishing, skiing, and sailing. By the time he was living in Fort Davis he was also an avid photographer, horseback rider, network coder, gun enthusiast, cook, and electronics craftsman. He even designed his own solar powered barndominium where he lived with his beloved Quarter Horse Rocky and Australian Shepard Zorro.
