Robert Woodbury Delaware Jr.

Robert W. Delaware Jr, 86 of Fort Davis, Texas passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2026 surrounded by his beloved family. Robert worked construction but also applied his trade of pipefitter to industrial settings such as chemical plants and oil refineries in and around the Houston, Texas area. But when it came to a life-long interest in particular pursuits, Robert thoroughly enjoyed building projects, even framed houses for a time, and was skilled in woodworking, masonry (including stone work), and always demonstrated expertise with endeavors requiring electrical know how.

Born in Houston, Texas to Robert W. Delaware and Erma Delaware, both of whom were born in Franklin County, New York, Robert fell in love with Fort Davis in the 1980's and moved here while in his 50's. To the end, he believed this region was one of the most remarkable places on earth.He is survived by his daughter, Tia Delaware, son, Robert W. Delaware III, and granddaughter Jessica Castro.
